I'm also planning to be a game dev, though I'm not gonna make my games as serious as other games on this site. One of the games, the biggest one out of the bunch, is literally called "A Waste o' Time: A Stupid Amateuristic Platformer That Very Much Lives Up To Its Name".

Animation has been quite rocky, for reasons I don't wanna repeat again. I managed to squeeze out two videos, one of them voiced by @GrantTheHeirophant! (He's probably making another half-hour documentary on why Jimmy John's is pure jackshit. Love you Grant)

..... alright, fine. I kinda improved on my instrument choice and overall musical knowledge. If I had to pick, my current inspiration is Koji Kondo's works on Mario and Zelda, since I've been playing a lot of the old stuff ever since. (Don't ask how I got the games please)

a love letter to Newgrounds

before I end this newspost, I'd like to give a really big, like really really big, dinosaur-sized-times-50-times-50 big thanks to Newgrounds. I've always felt like home here, and everything I've done has always been for this site. every artwork, every animation... everything. I've done a lot of stuff in this site that I might never even be able to do on another site. I feel safe knowing what Newgrounds truly is, a site resembling the vibe of a small town just near the big cities, a metaphor for all the mainstream platforms like YouTube and Instagram.

here i've met many people, lots I would never meet hadn't it been because of this site. shoutouts to @ninjamuffin99 for making the Newgrounds server, which helped me meet most of the people I know now today. I've learned a lot from them.

Finally, to the important news. Where do I start?

Look, first of all, it's not because I've been working on a big important project, or that I'm occupied in something else... listen. Listen very closely. I don't feel like myself anymore.

This isn't a joke, this is serious. I no longer feel like myself. I feel like I've changed for the worse. I noticed I've turned into a toxic person, and I might have been a bad influence even. I've set aside all the important things in life... and what for?

What for, indeed.

I wasted time trying to impress this site. Yes, I wasted my time and effort into trying to be one of the best, or to be recognized as one of the best. Why? Because I'm a lonely kid. I don't have that much self-esteem, and seeing you compliment my work makes me smile. It's weird, and to some it's understandable. But I hate it.

I don't hate Newgrounds, no. I love this site. I've met many wonderful people and even made friends with some of them. But it's time for me to calm down a bit, pull the brakes, hold the horses. Listen to me. I've gained an online following before I gained proper self-awareness.

After talking to some friends of mine, I decided to take a break. I don't know for how long, but I am gonna be under a hiatus. You might find me in the BBS, or talking in the Newgrounds Discord server, and that's fine. But I'm not gonna be uploading major art pieces, or joining anything big. I need to take time to recollect.

I hope you respect my decisions. I just need to take a break, that's all.

Merry Christmas by the way, and I hope this year ends sooner.

I spent 3 weeks making this illustration, and it was damn worth it!!!

It's the gift that appears in Day 13, which is St. Lucia's Day! My illustration is the reward you get when you collect all 99 saffrons in the minigame! (And if you collect 99 saffrons in 1 minute and 30 seconds, you can unlock the skin that resembles God.)
